The University of Guelph serves the learning needs of people of all ages. With the adoption of the philosophy of lifelong learning, the University of Guelph is committed to providing alternative approaches to education through open learning. The following list represents the array of open learning opportunities available from the University of Guelph. The Centre for Open Learning and Educational Support, the institutional focus for open learning activities at the University, develops and offers Continuing Education certificate courses, workshops and conferences for professional development and personal enrichment. As well, Distance Education offers degree-credit and non-credit courses in a wide array of subject areas and using a variety of resources from print-based manuals to CD-ROMs and the World Wide Web. The Open Learning program provides the general public open access to distance education courses for degree credit or personal enrichment.
The Guelph Turfgrass Institute (GTI) conducts research and provides information on turfgrass production and management to the turfgrass industry. GTI also offers a range of professional development activities for the landscape and turfgrass industry.
The College of Management and Economics offers an online MBA in Food and Agribusiness. The College also offers an online MBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Executives from around the world can study at a time and place convenient to them. You can also earn the Hospitality and Tourism Management degree in one year of intensive residency or in three years, by distance without interupting your career.
The College of Management and Economics also offers an online MA (Leadership) program. Through study, self-reflection, interaction and practice, leadership knowledge and skills can be acquired, making you a more effective leader.
The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management offers two professional development courses for the hospitaltity industry; the Advanced Management Program for the Hospitality Industry and the Hosptality Manager's Development Course.
