Fall 2009 DE Migration

Phase One of Migration

With the establishment of a single learning management system on campus, online components of all degree-credit courses, whether face-to-face or distance education, will be moving to a common online environment. In phase one of the migration of degree-credit distance education courses, the Office of Open Learning will be moving 13 DE courses into the common environment for Fall 09 delivery. These 13 DE courses, although remaining separate and distinct, will henceforth be accessed from the same course login page that students use to access their classroom-support websites. The reason for this migration is to eventually provide all students with the convenience of a single course listing page for both DE courses and classroom-support websites.

This will mean that, during the Fall 09 semester, 13 DE courses will be mounted on the common UofG environment, with a new login page. The remaining Fall 09 semester DE courses will be delivered from the existing OOL server and will be accessed through the customary Open Learning course login page.
